First time this term that I've ended up REALLY happy with a project!
We had to design a fake poster for a literary reading happening at York University.
The poster HAD to include the following: "story slam" as the title, "festival of short shorts by Dave Eggers", the date as "Sunday April 20, 2008", and "Joseph G. Green Studio Theatre, York University"
In class we were each given a random number pulled out of a hat - from the number we got we had three stories to pick from, out of a list of Dave Egger's short short stories.
Then our prof gave us a random dollar store item.
We had to take that random item, and use it to make the image for the poster.
I got those little glass beads people usually put in glass bowls as decorations (or in fishtanks)
I think the reason I like this so much is because of the picture.
I just stuck all the beads on a black dresser and held the lamp above them - and yet it turned out SO NICE.
